The Dreadnoughts - Green Willow

The Dreadnoughts, play an awesome blend of folk-punk and hail from Vancouver, Canada

I have a super limited number of copies here in the UK.

The album is almost entirely made up of traditional folk songs/folk‐classics, reinterpreted in The Dreadnoughts’ style — that is, merging folk melodies, sea shanties, war songs, ballads, etc., with their folk-punk energy.

The last track (“Roll Northumbria [Heavy Version]”) is an exception in that it may depart somewhat from a purely traditional source.

It has raw, spirited instrumentation, lively harmonies, and often a sense of rugged or maritime atmosphere — invoking sea, war, rural life, loss, community, etc.
